Spray Starch

Spray Starch

Description

Widely used in the paper industry. The effect of starch in the wet end is to retard fibres and fines, drainage aid, to enhance the internal sheet strength and the reduction of waste water pollution. In the surface sizing starch is used as an adhesive to bind vessel segments and loose surface fibres to enhance paper strength and stiffness and to improve offset printability and dimension stability. In coating starch is used as a binder for fine pigments, which imparts smoothness and gloss for high quality printing.

Description

Spray Starch

Spray Starch shows consistently excellent strength properties under a variety of Kraft paper/board paper machines and paper making conditions.
The retention of Spray Starch sprayed in the wet paper web is much higher than that of conventional starches. As a result, BOD and COD of white water are kept at lower levels.
Spray Starch granules are entrapped by the fibrous web and subsequently gelatinized by heat available in the dryer section
